Memorable and Inspiring

Frederic Bohbot visited the library during “Les Journées de la Culture” festivities to speak about his Academy award winning film “The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life”.   It was a beautiful, warm and sunny Saturday – yet the room was packed. After the event, people were leaving the library appearing deeply moved by the experience. Not only did the film charm and inspire, but Frederic added fascinating anecdotes about his encounters with Alice. He followed this warm tribute by donating a selection of documentary DVDs created by Bunbury Films (his film company) to the library. What a purely delightful afternoon! Startling Film Recently Added to Collection

I realize that this part of the blog was originally for books only, but I have decided to expand it a bit and add any interesting material recently received by the library. “The Broken Circle Breakdown” is an 2014 academy award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film and I saw it last night. The cover says that this Belgium film is a “moving portrait of a relationship from beginning to end, propelled by a soundtrack of foot-stomping bluegrass”.
