Bestselling novelist John le Carré has died at the age of 89 after a short illness.
David John Moore Cornwell, better known by his pen name John le Carré, was a British author of espionage novels. He drew on his experiences working for the Security Service, MI5, and Secret Intelligence (MI6) during the 1950s and 1960s. His third novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold published in 1963, became an international best-seller and remains one of his best-known works.
