Heard at the Circulation Desk – I have a new eReader, what do I do now?

Luckily, the library has a steadily growing collection of e-books and digital audio titles for you to borrow – for free!  To get started go to the library’s home page . Click on the link to emedia download library for English materials, pretnumerique.ca  for books in French.  If you select  HELP  you will find complete information on how to proceed.

We are also offering two new workshops – e-books & Kobo and e-books & iPad & iPhone.  Check the adult programs link for registration information. The next iPhone class will be held on January 28.

At the eMedia Library, you can choose a 7 day loan period or a 14 day loan period. (You can set a default in your “Account”). There will never be any fines because your book is automatically returned on time – on the due date.

Of course, you can always return a book early. Why would anyone want to do that? As you may know, people are allowed a maximum of three books at a time (the total includes eBooks and eAudiobooks). If you have borrowed three books but have finished reading one book – return it early. You’ll be able to borrow another book immediately. It can be useful if a book you have reserved becomes available since there is a time limit of 48 hours for you to pick up your reserved book. After 48 hours, your reservation is void.

Borrowing books from the comfort of your home has never been easier – 24/7.  If a book you want to read is out, just reserve it and it will be checked out to you automatically when it becomes available.

Here are a few ebooks that have just been added to the collection – enjoy!
