Heard at the Circulation Desk – Can I keep my books longer over the holidays?

Going away for the holidays?  You can ask for a holiday loan for your books and talking books.  The holiday loan period is 6 weeks.  The Library will be open over the holidays except for Dec. 24th, 25th, 26th and Dec. 31st, Jan. 1st and 2nd.  Note that your items will never be due on a day the Library is closed.

If you are looking for a good book to read during the holidays try the international best seller Flavia De Luce mystery series written by Alan Bradley.  There are six books in the series with the seventh book to be released early in the New Year.  Flavia is a 12 year old amateur detective/chemist who lives in an old manor house in post WWII England. The mysteries are intriguing and the characters are very endearing.   If you are tempted to try a talking book, these stories are exceptional. The narrator ( Jane Entwistle ) does an amazing job of bringing Flavia to life.

We are very fortunate that Alan Bradley will be speaking at the library on Wednesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. PASSES ARE REQUIRED. They will be available at the circulation desk starting on January 5th..  A wine and cheese will be served. We invite you to read some of his work before he visits.
