Gone Girl (Fic/F6481) by Gillian Flynn is a dark psychological thriller that examines a toxic marriage.  The newly released movie starring Ben Afleck has generated a renewed interest in the book which was released in 2012. The Library has 7 copies of Gone Girl that include audio, digital audio, ebook, regular print and large print editions.

While you are waiting for Gone Girl, try the Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison; a Canadian author who sadly passed away shortly after The Silent Wife was published.  It is a similarly addictive read that tells the story of the dark side of a marriage and relationships.  The Silent Wife is also being made into a movie which will star Nicole Kidman.  Read it now before it has a waiting list too!

  1. Spotting trends picked up by staff behind the desk is a great idea Susan! I enjoyed “Gone Girl” and will definitely buy the DVD for the library. It is funny, but I actually have a copy of “The Silent Wife” that I bought in an airport a while ago – but have not read yet. I’ve been meaning to get around to reading it – so thanks for the reminder!
