It has been a hectic few weeks. I have been working on the Adult Program of activities for the library – and I am finally finished! I am thrilled to tell you all that we have two exceptional authors coming to the library this fall.
Heather O’Neill (no relation!) will be talking about her newest novel “The Girl Who was Saturday Night” on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. Her first novel Lullabies for Little Criminals has sparked a bidding war for film rights. Her second novel has generated lavish praise from top critics. Passes will be required for this event which will be held in the Council Room at City Hall.
The second author coming to the library is Ann-Marie MacDonald. It has been ten years since Fall on Your Knees and The Way the Crow Flies. generated buzz with numerous literary awards – one of which was an Oprah Book Club selection for Fall on Your Knees. Her latest novel is Adult Onset, a powerful drama about motherhood, the dark undercurrents that break and hold families together, and the power and pressures of love. Passes will be required for this event which will also be held in the Council Room at City Hall on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m.
Mark your calendars now . I can hardly wait! I’ll put a link to the catalogue for Adult Onset once we have it on order. The book is expected to be available for purchase in September 2014.
